I’m thrilled to announce a major update to the Nova DSO Tracker! For the first time, you can now use the full power of the application online, directly in your browser, with no installation required. This is now the easiest and fastest way to get started.
By creating a free account, you can build your complete astrophotography setup and access it from anywhere:
- Plan Instantly: Create and save your target lists, configure your equipment (‘rigs’), and manage all your observing locations right here on the website.
- Sync with Your Local App: This live version is the perfect companion to a local installation. You can set up everything online, then download your configuration files (for your objects, rigs, and journal) to use with your at-home setup. You can also upload existing files from your computer to the web app.
- Keep an Imaging Journal: Log your sessions and track your total integration time on all your targets, wherever you are.
I’m launching this as a public beta. This means the core features are ready for you to use, but I’m still actively polishing the experience and hunting down bugs. As a solo developer, your feedback during this phase is what helps this project grow. If you encounter any issues or have ideas for new features, I would love to hear from you. Please reach out via the Contact page or by opening an issue on the GitHub repository.
Ready for the easiest way to plan your night sky observations?
I can’t wait to see what you capture.
Clear skies, Anton
